![]() Sifu by design to be one of those “difficulty setting free games”. Not possible, there is always a target audience and you are meant to appeal to the target audience. That’s like trying to say that everyone who enjoy Mario games should be able to enjoy souls games. If a game is part of a genre, it’s made for people who like that genre. No dude, games are not meant for everyone almost all of the time. That’s like being mad at world of Warcraft for wasting so much of your time and forcing you to deviate a lot of time to it, THATS THe POinT OF THe GAME, no one asked you to play it WHY DO YOU WANT TO PLAY A GAME NOT DESiGNED FOR YOU SO BADLY I was fine with developers vision of the game and then you came along and said “I wish it was suited to people like me with less time”. ![]() If I’m gate keeping then you are turf stepping. Why should sifu be for you and not me when the developer designed it for me? There are games out there for you and for me. Some people like me don’t have lives and have the attention span to spend more than 45 minutes with a game. Your complaints are ruining the game for me and like the original game. The devs released Sifu as to how they thought it should be, I don’t think they designed the game around how much free time you have. There are lots like that, a lot of them on mobile. Go play games that allow you to live life. I'm not saying this to sound "tough" because it's a fucking videogame, just stop pretending it's LE GOLD MEDAL TIER and being so pretentious about beating a brawler with five levels, let people play it, let the devs do whatever the hell they want with the great game they made - I'd think they know better. Sifu is honestly not that hard, I do have platinum on it and it took a day of trying, it doesn't even crack my top 10 hardest platinums. And the argument that "the original vision was at release" is ridiculous beyond words, so silly it's barely worth going into - just look at the incredible amount of games that are patched, fixed or have content added after release nowadays and achieve a whole new life because of that, sometimes reinventing themselves completely and being praised when they were originally panned, like No Man's Sky. And it won't take away the achievements of anyone who beat Sifu as it originally came out and decided to base their entire personality around it, they'll still be there. People who will play on easy are most likely the ones who aren't playing the game at the moment, so no, nothing will be lost or made easier for the vast majority, it will just allow new players in who were excluded from enjoying it if they choose to do so. No, beating Sifu isn't comparable to getting gold at the Olympics, lmao. The pretentiousness surrounding this game's difficulty is hilarious. Making a game accessible to everyone isnt always a good thing. Cultivating a niche cult fan base is usually not achieved by appealing to the masses. ![]() If the devs want more people to play their game, that will always be sacrificing something (fun, style, challenge, design). And it’s a change that affects the legacy of the game. That’s great, but it’s a different vision from release. If the devs decide that adding easy to Sifu coincides with their vision. If they release a game that is fun for blind people, but isn’t fun if you can see, too bad they never expected you to buy it. If the devs release a tabletop style Batman game, but you are mad that they didn’t make an Arkham style game instead… too bad the game isn’t for you and wasn’t made for you. A niche game isn’t put out in the world where the devs hope that everyone plays it. At the end of the day, the devs decide what their game should be. It’s also like people who used to play sports, at some point you can no longer play the sport at the level you used to.Īccessibility in games is a complicated subject. The game just isn’t meant for you anymore or get used to playing at lower rank. That’s like getting mad that you can’t rank as high in CoD or counter strike because of your old age. The argument that some people just can’t play the game anymore doesn’t make sense to me.
